10. No One Killed Jessica:

Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan joins forces and with their perfect onscreen acting delivered one of the best film of 2011. This film was moderately successful in the box office and the critics applauded this film by giving 4 out of 5 stars. This film was directed by Raj Kumar Gupta.

9. Dhobi Ghaat:

Dhobi Ghaat was another surprise hit of this year. This film was directed by Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao and stars Prateik Babbar, Monica Dogra and Aamir Khan in brief roles. This film was moderately successful in the box office but it received overwhelmingly positive reviews from the critics and audiences.

8. Tanu Weds Manu:

Tanu Weds Manu was a surprise hit this year that stars R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles. This film is a typical Hindi romantic film featuring typical Indian Culture. Buddah…. Hoga Terra Baap is a comedy action film starring Amitabh Bacchan in the lead role and Sonu Sood, Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon , Prakash Raj and Sonal Chauhan in the supporting roles. This film is directed by Puri Jagannadh and centers on the hitman Vijju Malhotra played by Amitabh Bacchan. The Deol family reunites in this movie. First time ever the three Deols, who are best known for their action films plays the hilarious comic roles in this film. Dharmendra along with his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol brings the best comedy film of this year. This film had an excellent opening in the box office and critics rated it as the 5 star comedy film. Samir Karnik directed this film.

4. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara:

After the success of Dil Chahta Hai, Farhan Akhtar once again decided to make a movie of three friends and this time he choose his sister Zoya Akhtar as director and Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and himself in the main leads. This film tells the story of three friends and their adventurous road trip to Spain. Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin are female leads of this film. This was hugely successful both critically and commercially.

3. Murder 2:

Emraan Hashmi once again delivered his magic and this time he was paired with the hottie Jacqueline Fernandes in Murder 2. Murder 2 is directed by Mohit Suri and tells the story of corrupt cop Arjun Bhagwat played by Emraan Hashmi who is given a task by a local goon to investigate the disappearances of his hookers. This movie was a huge success both critically and commercially.

2. Ready:

Ready is an action comedy film starring the current King Khan Salman Khan, Asin, Mahesh Manjrekar and Paresh Rawal along with the other supporting cast. Salman’s magic once again entertained the public and despite receiving mixed reviews from the critics, this film was a massive success in the box office and audiences gave this film 5 out of 5 stars.

1. Singham:

Singham is an action packed film of an officer Bajirao Singham played by Ajay Devgn who is an honest and brave cop. Kajal Aggarwal is the female lead of this film. At the time of its release Singham peaked at the box-office with earth shattering business and was overwhelmingly applauded by the critics and audiences. Rohit Shetty who is famously known as the director of Golmaal Film Series directed this movie.

This movie was created in 2010 and had it premiered in November 2010. It was finally released in all theatres by January of 2011. This is the 50^th animated movie produced by Walt Disney Animated Classics. The original title of this story is Rapunzel, which is based on a fantasy story, entitled Rapunzel who was sent and imprisoned inside the high-built tower  and was rescued by his prince charming.

7. Rio

The story happened in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where the title of the movie came from. It is a comedy adventure film, which was directed by Carlos Saldanha and produced by Blue Sky Studios. The story focuses on a male blue macaw that fell in love with another blue macaw named Jewel. It was released in March 2011in Brazil while shown the following month in United States.

6. Shrek Origins: Puss in Boots: The Story of an Ogre Killer

This is now yet shown in any movie theatres but it will be released in November 04, 2011 in all theaters and IMAX 3D. DreamWorks Animation produced this film and directed by Chris Miller.

5. Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom

This is a sequel of Kung Fu Panda, which was shown in 2008. This movie was released in May 2011, produced by DreamWorks Animation, and directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson. It is about the villain who was threatening Po’s life and would like to conquer China where the rest is the story that you have to follow.

4. Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

This is a third part of the movie where Sid found three eggs of Dinosaurs. The scenes of the movie began when the three eggs were rescued.

3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

This is the final chapter and a last battle that Harry would fight. It is a quest to seek and to destroy the last three remaining Dark Lord’s horcruxes, ending the battle that started after his parents were killed.

Though there have been motion pictures that have its own attractive and appealing stories, the ones that take the limelight are those movies that have sequels. Here are the titles anticipated by many fans next year.




10. Ice Age: Continental Drift

Who would not be excited in this fourth installment of the prehistoric 3D cartoon comedy, knowing how Scrat and his acorn changed the course of history in the continental drift, all because of his hunger? We saw dinosaurs and mammoths. This time we will see the crew defrosted in the modern age.


9. Untitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Project

Even though there have only been rumors and leaks that confirm the existence of this movie project, kids and adults alike would want to see how the turtles have changed and grew over the years. The existence of this movie was confirmed via a short video from Nickelodeon.


8. Madagascar 3

They were taken from their home habitat and they found themselves running away from New York City Zoo. In Madagascar 3, Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe are still finding their way home, but this time, they got to Europe where they discovered the perfect opportunity to be closer to home… The Circus!

Agent J and Agent K are back again to kick some alien butt. However, the period of the battle is different. Agent K had to go back in time, as early as 1969 and meet with the younger Agent K to fight an alien named Boris. Finishing the battle many years back decides on the outcome of the future. Agent O will also make an appearance.


2. The Avengers

This movie becomes one of the most anticipated of the year because of the many heroes being gathered in one motion picture. Captain America, Iron Man, War Machine, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury, the Hulk, and Thor provides a total superhero overload.


1. One for the Money

There must be something in this movie that makes it the most anticipated for the year. It is not involved in any series, nor it has any special effects. But the plot of seeing a former lingerie seller become a famous bounty hunter is more than enough of a sight to see.
